A vast bookshelf of vivid yellow magazines that he would secretly leaf through like top-secret files.. that’s what ignited Howard’s fascination with photography as a young boy from York.

His grandfather’s collection of National Geographic Magazines disappeared without trace, but his passion for photography stayed with him and flourished.

Dreams of travelling the world, capturing the depth and diversity of nature, people and culture where put on hold for the real world. The next 12 years was embraced by a very successful career in Graphic/Design & IT before he finally asked himself “what do I really want?”

The answer was life changing and five years on, Howard has never looked back!

Utilising existing skills as a designer, a retoucher and picture editor, Howard found that he quickly developed a photographic style that was commercially strong. Within six months, shooting for the national papers and magazines was a daily event.

Cutting his teeth working on hundreds of freelance location and studio assignments was a fantastic experience, but he was on a personal journey and wanted to explore even more, to keep on moving.

After the experience and excitement of an eighteen month long photographic trip around Europe in a camper van, Howard returned to his beloved Cornwall in june 2012 with a clear ambition of accelerating his photographic career to the next level.
